The family hours after I sent Veronica back to Adelaide after catching the train to the Werribee Returned Soldiers League where she could catch the bus to Avalon. We spent the week together in Victoria.
Veronica has just celebrated her sixtieth birthday on 10 November 2006. We were together in Malvern, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia where we managed to get up to some adventures.
She picked up the dress she is wearing from Dimmeys and wore it to the Melbourne Cup at the Flemington Racecourse where we watched the immortal Makybe Diva storm home to win her third Melbourne Cup in a row. Not bad for an eight year old mother. We did not have any money on the favourite, but watching the horse, jockey, trainer and owners in the mounting yard after the race was an unforgettable moment.

The Farrells were nice enough to pick up Vonnie from the Adelaide Airport and whisk her up to Happy Valley for this belated birthday bash at the unit of my godmother. My Godmother, Auntie Dot has her birthday on the 14 November, so it may have been a bit of a dual celebration.

My younger cousin Steve, wearing the light shirt, is a good friend and we have spent many hours together co-habitating or going out to catch live bands. He played bass in a band called 'Disturbing the Peace' and we had many trips to country towns to play the local pub. The band had a great reputation and many stories emerged from backstage.

Dave, my eldest cousin is the first person I visit when returning to Adelaide, even at five-o-clock in the morning. He has two beautiful boys, Thomas and Justin and many of my fondest memories involve time hanging out with Dave, down at the Tonsley Hotel, at the soccer and watching the F.A. Cup Finals.
